Europe’s largest solar park
On 3 July 2024, Europe's largest solar park was opened in Neukieritzsch near Leipzig, in a former opencast lignite mine. At 650 megawatts, the solar power plant has the output of a full-scale industrial power station. Around 1.1 million photovoltaic modules have been installed on an area the size of 700 football pitches. This means that the solar park can even be seen from space. The cost of the solar park, which was financed entirely through private investment, was in the mid three-digit million euro range.
For this client, we planned and organised the entire opening ceremony, including the following components:
- Provision of the mobile power and water supply, as well as waste water disposal
- Provision of a VIP marquee with furniture and decoration
- Provision of sound, lighting, and presentation equipment
- High-quality event catering
- Guest management, shuttle service
- Event management and coordination of all trades and suppliers
